NOTEPAD "world trade centre trick"..

Did you know that the flight number of the plane that had hit WTC ...on
9/11 was Q33N ....Open your Notepad in ur computer and type the flight
number i.e Q33N... Increase the Font Size to 72, Change the Font to
Wingdings. U will be amazed by the findings.

Notepad Tricks!

Step 1: Open Notepad
Step 2: Write following line in the notepad.
this app can break
Step 3: Save this file as xxx.txt
Step 4: Close the notepad.
Step 5: Open the file again.

Voilla!!

or

1> Open Notepad
2> Enter four words separated by spaces, wherein the first word has 4 letters, the next two have three letters, and the last word has five letters
3> DON'T hit enter at the end of the line.
4> Save the file.
5> Close Notepad.
6> Reopen Notepad.
7> Open the file you just saved.

or

Open a note pad
type Bush hid the facts
save that file,
close it
again open and see...

SPEED UP MENU DISPLAY.!!

When using the start menu the you will notice a delay between different tiers of the menu hierarchy. For the fastest computer experience possible I recommend changing this value to zero. This will allow the different tiers to appear instantly.

Start Regedit.

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
Select MenuShowDelay from the list on the right.

Right on it and select Modify.
Change the value to 0.
Reboot your computer.

log trick !! make ur Notepad a diary !!

Sometimes we want to insert current data and time, whenever we open the file in the notepad. If you are a lazy person like me, who don’t like to press F5 whenever you open a notepad. Then here is a trick to avoid this. Just add a .LOG in the first line of your text file and close it.
Whenever you open the file with that text in the first line in the notepad, it will insert the current date and time at the end of the file. You can start entering your text after that.

WHY?

The reason this happens:

In notepad, any other 4-3-3-5 letter word combo will have the same results.
It is all to do with a limitation in Windows. Text files containing Unicode UTF-16-encoded Unicode are supposed to start with a "Byte-Order Mark" (BOM), which is a two-byte flag that tells a reader how the following UTF-16 data is encoded.

1) You are saving to 8-bit Extended ASCII (Look at the Save As / Encoding format)
2) You are reading from 16-bit UNICODE (You guessed it, look at the Save As / Encoding format)
This is why the 18 8-bit characters are being displayed as 9 (obviously not supported by your codepage) 16-bit UNICODE characters

~ cheers ~

CLICKING * .AVI FILES ON EXPLORER CAUSING 100% CPU USAGE.!!

Well windows seem to have a REALLY big problem when it comes to reading AVI files. It seems that when you click on an AVI file in explorer, it'll try to read the entire AVI file to determine the width, height, etc. of the AVI file (this is displayed in the Properties window). Now the problem with Windows is that if you have a broken/not fully downloaded AVI file that doesnt contain this info, Windows will scan the entire AVI file trying to figure out all these properties which in the process will probably cause 100% CPU usage and heavy memory usage. To solve this problem all you have to do is the following:
1. Open up regedit
2. Goto HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.avi\shel lex\PropertyHandler
3. Delete the "Default" value which should be "{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}"
Voila! Please not that this will no longer provide you with the windows properties displaying the AVI file information such as width, height, bitrate etc. But its a small price to pay for saving you resources.
NOTE: Please use caution when using regedit. Improper usage may cause windows to behave imcorrectly. Also, I cannot be held resposible. Backup your registry first.

AUTO DELETE TEMPORARY FOLDER.!!

what i prefer is %temp% " without quotes.. at Start -> Run..
this opens ur temp folder n den u cal erase it neatly// still try dis one too..

First go into gpedit.msc
Next select -> Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Terminal Services/Temporary Folder
Then right click "Do Not Delete Temp Folder Upon Exit"
Go to properties and hit disable. Now next time Windows puts a temp file in that folder it will automatically delete it when its done! Note from Forum Admin: Remember, GPEDIT (Group Policy Editor) is only available in XP Pro.

make ur pdf files to speak

make ur pdf files to speak
here r the shortcuts for hearing pdf files in abobe reader 6.0 or higher

ctrl+shift+v ---->to hear the page

SPEED UP UR ACROBAT READER (ALMOST LIKE NOTEPAD)

Do u get irritated when acrobat reader takes 5/10 seconds to load when you want to open a pdf document. There is a way to speed up the loading.

1. Go to the installation folder of acrobat reader
(C:\program files\adobe\acrobat\reader\.. whatever)

2. Move all the files and folders from the "plugins" directory to the "Optional" directory. (I repeat.. cut and paste the files NOT copy & paste).

Also make sure that acrobat reader is not open else it will lock the files and not allow you to move the files).

Now your acrobat reader will load very fast
and almost as good as notepad..

Windows XP Service Pack -> Change

Many a times, new softwares, games require you to have the latest service packs to install. There's a way to bypass that.

Step 1: Open the run option from the start meny and type in 'regedit' and press enter
Make a backup of your registry (just in case)
Step 3: Browse to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Control\ Windows"
Step 4: Modify the value of "CSDVersion" from "0x00000200" (SP2) to the Windows XP SP3 value of "0x00000300"
Step 5: Close registry editor
Step 6: Reboot your computer

Play Without Graphics Card - 3D Analyzer

Frustrated that you cannot play your favourite games without an expensive Video Card? There is an answer!!

Click the image to open in full size.

This application sort of "tricks" your computer into thinking it has a nvidia and even a radeon card playing your games as if those video cards would play them.

How To Create Bootable USB To Install Windows Vista

This tutorial will help you in creating a bootable USB drive of Windows Vista which you can use to install Vista in any system. It might become very useful when you don't have access to DVD drive.

1. First format your USB drive in NTFS file system. You can do it by attaching your USB drive to your system and then format it from My Computer window.

2. Now open Command Prompt window from Start menu. Right-click on Command Prompt entry in start menu and select "Run as administrator" option.

3. Now type diskpart in Command Prompt window and press Enter. It'll launch DiskPart program:

Click the image to open in full size.

4. Now provide following command:

list volume

It'll show a list of all drives in your system. Look for your USB drive entry. As in the below screenshot, the USB drive is "G" which you can determine from its "Type" entry.

Now you have to select the USB drive volume by providing select volume no. command. Since in our case volume no. of USB drive is "Volume 4", the command would be:

select volume 4

Now we have to make this drive active. So provide active command:

active

Now exit from DiskPart using exit command.

Click the image to open in full size.

5. Now we need to create Boot sector on USB drive. We'll use "bootsect.exe" utility for this task. You can find this utility in Windows Vista setup disk. It'll be present in "Boot" directory.

Now provide following command in Command Prompt:

bootsect /nt60 G:

Here G is drive letter of USB drive. Replace it with the correct drive letter if your system has some other letter for USB drive.

Click the image to open in full size.

6. At last, copy all files/folders from Vista Setup DVD to your USB drive and you have done.

Now you can boot using your USB drive and can install Windows Vista in any system.

how to remove Autorun virus from ur mp3 player or flash drive

This is a simple trick for the most irritating virus in the world wide web...

1.if ur flash/mp3 catches this virus,firstly format ur flash/mp3.

2.As soon as u format your flash/mp3.create a folder named "Autorun.inf"(without the braces) in your flash/mp3.since this prevents the virus from copying itself on to your flash/mp3.

This would do the trick....

Trust me this really works....

Change Default Install Location...XP Users

Change The Default Location For Installing Apps
-----------------------------------------------

As the size of hard drives increase, more people are using partitions to separate and store groups of files.

XP uses the C:\Program Files directory as the default base directory into which new programs are installed. However, you can change the default installation drive and/ or directory by using a Registry hack.

Go to :-

- Start > Run

- Type “regedit” (without “” NOOBS!)

- Go to this directory…
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion

- Look for the value named ProgramFilesDir. by default, this value will be C:\Program Files. Edit the value to any valid drive or folder and XP will use that new location as the default installation directory for new programs.

Change Text on XP Start Button

Step 1 - Modify Explorer.exe File

In order to make the changes, the file explorer.exe located at C:\Windows needs to be edited. Since explorer.exe is a binary file it requires a special editor. For purposes of this article I have used Resource Hacker. Resource HackerTM is a freeware utility to view, modify, rename, add, delete and extract resources in 32bit Windows executables and resource files (*.res). It incorporates an internal resource script compiler and decompiler and works on Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems.

get this from h**p://delphi.icm.edu.pl/ftp/tools/ResHack.zip

The first step is to make a backup copy of the file explorer.exe located at C:\Windows\explorer. Place it in a folder somewhere on your hard drive where it will be safe. Start Resource Hacker and open explorer.exe located at C:\Windows\explorer.exe.

The category we are going to be using is "String Table". Expand it by clicking the plus sign then navigate down to and expand string 37 followed by highlighting 1033. If you are using the Classic Layout rather than the XP Layout, use number 38. The right hand pane will display the stringtable. We’re going to modify item 578, currently showing the word “start” just as it displays on the current Start button.

There is no magic here. Just double click on the word “start” so that it’s highlighted, making sure the quotation marks are not part of the highlight. They need to remain in place, surrounding the new text that you’ll type. Go ahead and type your new entry. In my case I used Click Me!

You’ll notice that after the new text string has been entered the Compile Script button that was grayed out is now active. I won’t get into what’s involved in compiling a script, but suffice it to say it’s going to make this exercise worthwhile. Click Compile Script and then save the altered file using the Save As command on the File Menu. Do not use the Save command – Make sure to use the Save As command and choose a name for the file. Save the newly named file to C:\Windows.

Step 2 – Modify the Registry

!!!make a backup of your registry before making changes!!!

Now that the modified explorer.exe has been created it’s necessary to modify the registry so the file will be recognized when the user logs on to the system. If you don’t know how to access the registry I’m not sure this article is for you, but just in case it’s a temporary memory lapse, go to Start (soon to be something else) Run and type regedit in the Open field. Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows NT\ CurrentVersion\ Winlogon

In the right pane, double click the "Shell" entry to open the Edit String dialog box. In Value data: line, enter the name that was used to save the modified explorer.exe file. Click OK.

Close Registry Editor and either log off the system and log back in, or reboot the entire system if that’s your preference. If all went as planned you should see your new Start button with the revised text.[/b]

Remove 'A network cable is unplugged' icon from tray

Click on Start>Run..., type regedit.exe and click OK. Delete this key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{7007ACCF-3202-11D1-AAD2-00805FC1270E}

Restart to apply the changes. I haven't had any ill effects so far. Make a backup of the key just in case (select the key and click on File>Export...).

Burn a BIN without a CUE using NERO

You've downloaded a *.BIN file, but there was no *.CUE file associated and you still want to burn the *.BIN file using Nero

Your options are:

1) Create yourself a *.CUE

2) Convert the *.BIN to an *.ISO

3) OR use Nero to burn without the *.CUE file!!!

Yes, that's possible... just follow these steps and you will be sorted. No need for *.CUE files anymore

Ok, here we go...

1) Start Nero

2) File -> Burn Image

3) Browse to the *.BIN file that you want to burn and open it

4) A window saying "Foreign Image Settings" will open

5) Check the settings. They should be as followed:

* Type of image: leave it to Data Mode 1
* Select the Raw Data check box
Note ->> The block size will change automatically from 2048 to 2352
* Leave Image Header and Image Trailer unchanged and set to 0
* Leave "Scrambled" and "Swapped" check boxes unchecked

6) Click on burn!

7) Enjoy

This tut was for Nero 5.x.x.x, I was told that "Burn Image" is under "recorder" in Nero 6. The rest of the steps should be the same...

Create A Huge File

You can create a file of any size using nothing more than what's supplied with Windows. Start by converting the desired file size into hexadecimal notation. You can use the Windows Calculator in Scientific mode do to this. Suppose you want a file of 1 million bytes. Enter 1000000 in the calculator and click on the Hex option to convert it (1 million in hex is F4240.) Pad the result with zeroes at the left until the file size reaches eight digits—000F4240.

Now open a command prompt window. In Windows 95, 98, or Me, you can do this by entering COMMAND in the Start menu's Run dialog; in Windows NT 4.0, 2000, or XP enter CMD instead. Enter the command DEBUG BIGFILE.DAT and ignore the File not found message. Type RCX and press Enter. Debug will display a colon prompt. Enter the last four digits of the hexadecimal number you calculated (4240, in our example). Type RBX and press Enter, then enter the first four digits of the hexadecimal size (000F, in our example). Enter W for Write and Q for Quit. You've just created a 1-million-byte file using Debug. Of course you can create a file of any desired size using the same technique.

Trick to Increase Windows Vista Performance / Experience Index upto 9.9

We all know about new feature "Windows Experience or Performance Index" in Windows Vista. Its a new feature which automatically calculates your system performance index based on the hardware you have. It can be between 0.1 to 9.9

Better system hardware, better Performance Index and better system performance.

"Windows Performance Index" is shown in "System Properties" which can be accessed by right-clicking on "My Computer" icon on Desktop and select "Properties" or from "Control Panel".

Using this trick, you can increase that Index upto 9.9

Before:

After:

The benefit of this hack is, there are a few features in Windows Vista which can only be used if your "Windows Experience Index" reaches the minimum requirements. So by increasing the Index manually, you can use those features.

Like You'll get toolbar in "Photo Gallery's Slide Show" while opening a wallpaper in Explorer.

How to:

1. Type following in Startmenu Searchbox / Run / Explorer Addressbar:

Quote:
%windir%\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore
And Press .

2. You'll one or more .xml files in the folder. Sort them by Date Created or look at their name. The file name will be in following format:

Quote:
2007-11-08 22.23.17.858 Assessment (Initial).WinSAT.xml
Where "2007-11-08 22.23.17.858" might differ from machine to machine and Windows Installation date/time.

3. Open the latest file in "Wordpad" and goto line having . It'll be approx. 12th line and will look like following:

Quote:

1
4
3.4
2.9
3.9
1
1
4.2
4. Now you can edit the numbers between > & < and can increase them upto 9.9 as following:

Quote:

9.9
9.9
9.9
9.9
9.9
9.9
9.9
9.9
5. Thats it. Save the file and check the Index again in System Properties. It'll 9.9 now.

NOTE: If you can't save the file, then take ownership of the file.

How to change IPs

This is a tutorial about changing IP addresses. You can change your IP address for various reasons

1.) because you got banned in a game from some server.

2.) you got banned from some crappy forums and want to get a nub back

3.) if you are downloading from somewhere like Rapidshare, you might not have patience to wait for 3 hours to download another file again, if you change your ip, you can download another file instantly having to still wait for your "ticket" tho.

Ok there are many ways of changing your IP ;)

First is to go to the Start Menu and goto the RUN command.

after that type this:

blah blah blah>ipconfig

now see what your ip address is right NOW.

now you need to:
blah blah blah> ipconfig [SPACE ONCE] /release
(Note:this releases the IP address you are using now, and your internet wont work till u renew another IP address or the same one)

then like after 10-20 seconds do:
blah blah blah>ipconfig [SPACE ONCE] /renew
this gives you an iP address, either another one, or the same one you had before

that is one way of changing your IP Wink, note that it won't work all the time.

Now if you don't like all that technical stuff, then here is an easier way.

If you have a ROUTER, this is gonna be ownage.

Unplug your router power, and after that your DSL pwoer cable, wait for 10 seconds until your internet icon at the taskbar has an X with it.

now plug back your router in, then after 1 second of plugging your router in, plug that dsl of yours in.

When you are connected to the internet, try getting a file from rapidshare, and see if you can download.

If u can download, then congratulations, you have just changed your IP address :D

(Note again: sooner or later, you will run out of IP addresses to change, but that will take a long time for it to happen)

XP's Built-in Back Door and It's Security Flaw

This is the way to get in through the back door M$ put into XP:

Note: Italicized entries are my added comments. Other changes are spelling, grammar and format sorts of ‘corrections’. Oops, the italicised stuff didn't copy italicised. Oh, well

I Forgot My Administrator Password!

by Vic Ferri

Can't Log On to Windows XP? If that’s your only problem, then you probably have nothing to worry about. As long as you have your Windows XP Installation CD, you can get back into your system using a simple but effective method made possible by a little known access hole in Windows XP.

This method is easy enough for newbies to follow – it doesn’t require using the Recovery Console or any complicated commands. And it’s free - I mention that because you can pay two hundred dollars for an emergency download of Winternals ERD with Locksmith which is a utility for unlocking lost Windows passwords. See here: _http://www.winternals.com/products/repairandrecovery/locksmith.asp

ERD is an excellent multi purpose product, but you should know it is not a necessary one if you have a healthy system and your sole problem is the inability to logon to Windows due to a forgotten password. Not necessary because you can easily change or wipe out your Administrator password for free during a Windows XP Repair. Here’s how with a step-by-step description of the initial Repair process included for newbie’s.

Note: See here for an extensive and detailed walkthrough of this Repair process:
_http://www.informationweek.com/windows/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=189400897

The article includes pictures of all the screens, and screens 7 and 13 correspond to steps 6 and 10 below, respectively. Keep that in mind.

1. Place your Windows XP Installation CD in your CDROM and start your computer (it’s assumed here that your XP Installation CD is bootable – as it should be - and that you have your BIOS set to boot from CD).

2. Keep your eye on the screen messages for booting to your CD. Typically, it will be “Press any key to boot from CD”. So, press a key.

3. Once you get in, the first screen will indicate that Setup is inspecting your system and loading files.

4. When you get to the Welcome to Setup screen, press ENTER to Setup Windows now.

5. The Licensing Agreement comes next - Press F8 to accept it.

6. The next screen is the Setup screen which gives you the option to do a Repair. It should read something like “If one of the following Windows XP installations is damaged, Setup can try to repair it”. Use the up and down arrow keys to select your XP installation (if you only have one, it should already be selected) and press R to begin the Repair process.

7. Let the Repair run. Setup will now check your disks and then start copying files which can take several minutes.

8. Shortly after the Copying Files stage, you will be required to reboot. This will happen automatically – you will see a progress bar stating “Your computer will reboot in 15 seconds”.

Note: Let the progress bar run – do not press ENTER to reboot.

9. During the reboot, do not make the mistake of “pressing any key” to boot from the CD again! Setup will resume automatically with the standard billboard screens and you will notice Installing Windows is highlighted.

Note: the author forgot to mention the two intervening screens; ‘Regional and Language Options’ and the ‘Product Key’ screen, where you (Duh) enter your product key. So have it handy. Then:

10. Keep your eye on the lower left hand side of the screen and when you see the Installing Devices progress bar, press SHIFT + F10. This is the security hole! A command console will now open up giving you the potential for wide access to your system.

11. At the prompt, type NUSRMGR.CPL and press Enter. Voila! You have just gained graphical access to your User Accounts in the Control Panel.

Note: You can also access other Control Panel items by typing the corresponding .cpl command. I haven’t tried other Command Prompt or Repair Console commands, but I assume some, if not all will work. Instead of changing the password to an administrator account, you can log into one (see 12 below) and create another administrator account, which can then be deleted for cleanup before exiting the system.

12. Now simply pick the account you need to change and remove or change your password as you prefer. If you want to log on without having to enter your new password, you can type control userpasswords2 at the prompt and choose to log on without being asked for a password. After you’ve made your changes close the windows, exit the command box and continue on with the Repair.

What other arcane commands such as control userpasswords2 might there be?
13. Once the Repair is done, you will be able to log on with your new password (or without a password if you chose not to use one or if you chose not to be asked for a password). Your programs and personalized settings should remain intact.

I tested the above on Windows XP Pro with and without SP1 and also used this method in a real situation where someone could not remember their password and it worked like a charm to fix the problem. This security hole allows access to more than just user accounts.

You can also access the Registry and Policy Editor, for example. And its GUI access with mouse control. Of course, a Product Key will be needed to continue with the Repair before you can access the security hole and make the changes, but for anyone intent on gaining access to your system, this would be no problem, with a program called Magic Jellybean Finder.

And in case you are wondering, NO, you cannot cancel install after making the changes and expect to logon with your new password.

Canceling will just result in Setup resuming at bootup and your changes will be lost.

Ok, now that your logon problem is fixed, you should make a point to prevent it from ever happening again by creating a Password Reset Disk. This is a floppy disk you can use in the event you ever forget your log on password. It allows you to set a new password.

Here's how to create one if your computer is NOT on a domain:

· Go to the Control Panel and open up User Accounts.

· Choose your account (under Pick An Account to Change) and under Related
Tasks, click "Prevent a forgotten password".

· This will initiate a wizard.

· Click Next, and then insert a blank formatted floppy disk into your A: drive.

· Click Next, and enter your logon password in the password box.

· Click Next to begin the creation of your Password Disk.

· Once completed, label and save the disk to a safe place.

How to Log on to your PC Using Your Password Reset Disk:

· Start your computer and at the logon screen;

· Click your user name and leave the password box blank or just type in anything.

· This will bring up a Logon Failure box and you will then see the option to use your Password Reset Disk to create a new password.

· Click it, to initiate the Password Reset wizard. Insert your Password Reset Disk into your floppy drive and follow the Wizard which will let you choose a new password to use for your account.

Note: If your computer is part of a domain, the procedure for creating a Password Reset Disk is different.

See here for step by step instructions: _http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;en-us;306214&

That’s it !

Now for the Security flaw part. This is from the “Windows Secrets” newsletter.

XP passwords rendered useless

By Brian Livingston

Windows XP, which has been marketed by Microsoft as "the most secure version ever," has been found to have a flaw so bone-headed that it renders passwords ineffective as a means of keeping people out of your PC.

Reader Tony DeMartino alerted me to the problem, which all administrators of Windows XP machines should immediately take to heart:

· Anyone with a Windows 2000 CD can boot up a Windows XP box and start the Windows 2000 Recovery Console, a troubleshooting program.

· Windows XP then allows the visitor to operate as Administrator without a password, even if the Administrator account has a strong password.

· The visitor can also operate in any of the other user accounts that may be present on the XP machine, even if those accounts have passwords.

· Unbelievably, the visitor can copy files from the hard disk to a floppy disk or other removable media - something even an Administrator is normally prevented from doing when using the Recovery Console.

This problem is unrelated to a feature of XP that allows an Administrator to set up automatic logon when the Recovery Console is used. Even without the Registry entry that enables this, XP is vulnerable. (For info on that feature, see _support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;312149.)

Windows 2000, of course, doesn't allow Recovery Console users to access a hard drive without a password, if one previously existed.

I notified four Microsoft executives of the XP flaw weeks ago, but haven't yet received an official response. There's no Knowledge Base article about it, and there may not even be a good solution to the problem.

When I've spoken with Microsoft security pros about similar problems in the past, they've referred me to a company policy that says, "If a bad guy has unrestricted physical access to your computer, it's not your computer anymore."

That's all well and good - but the fact remains that Windows 2000 doesn't allow anyone with an old CD to get password-free access, and Windows XP does.

My recommendation: If you use XP machines in open spaces, put the PCs behind a locked door or put a lock on the PCs themselves. The bad guys know about this flaw, and it's just one more thing for the good guys to protect against.

Note: Be aware, and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do €:-

Hack Modem + ISP and Increase Your Download Speed

Most of us will be feeling that the surfing speed which is allocated by our ISP is not enough. People with 64Kbps will think 128Kbps will be cool speed. People with 128Kbps will think 256Kbps will be cool and so on

This tutorial will teach you how to increase your 64Kbps link to 512Kbps or what ever speed you like.

It is very much possible to do this. With a bit of luck if your Cable Internet Service Provider are very uneducated on how this very new technology works and leave some key loopholes open for you to grab vital information on how to accomplish this task. But this [tutorial] will no guarantee you 100% success.

Okay here we go. I'm going to try to explain you as best as I can to accomplish re-configuring your SB5100, SB4100 or SB3100 cable modem

Theory of cable modem working

All the cable modems when it boots up it will search for an "Image file" where in all configuration like your upload speed limit and download speed limit is defined. This "Image file" is stored in ISP`s TFTP server. Modem will be pre-configured with the ISP`s TFTP server IP address and the Image file name to be downloaded. When the modem boots up it query TFTP server and download Image file from [TFTP] [server] according to this this our speed limits will be set.

Our Mission

Get this Image file from ISP`s TFTP server, reconfigure it according to our need and force our modem to download this file from our Computer rather than downloading it from our ISP`s TFTP server.

1). Get cable [modems] MAC-Addreaa

You can either look at the back of the modem to get this MAC Address or you can logon to your Cable modem with your Web Browser 192.168.100.1/ . This is internal HTML pages stored within your DOCsis cable modem (SB5100, SB4100 and SB3100) that gives you even more vital information on configuration. Unless it is turned off by your ISP. This feature might be totally turned off by your ISP.

2). Get your [ISP] TFTP server IP address

a) There's a program called QUERY.EXE from Weird Solutions which is a BOOTP packet request program that will tell you everything you need to know, without all these extra steps. It will display the Image Filename, TFTP server address, which is really all you need to get started. To use this BOOTP QUERY tool, you need the MAC address of your cable modem or Beginners can use DOCSIS Diagnosis utility

Code::
docsis

Using the above tools you will get the information of your ISP`s TFTP server IP and the name of your "Image file" stored in that TFTP server

All your vital information is stored in this file, One of which is the MaxRateDown 2621440; MaxRateUp 393216;. (This was my ISP settings. Which you can see is similar to what speed I was getting. 40KB/s up and 250 KB/s down)

Among these, the one we need are:

Configuration [TFTP] [Server] = 194.*.*..90 (replace this with yours throughout in the doc)

Configuration filename = isrr.bin (replace this with yours throughout in the doc)

And

IP fragments created = 0

IP address.10.$$$.$$$.$$$ = 10.$$$.$$$.$$$

IP address.192.168.100.1 = 192.168.100.1 (the IP address of the cable modem, (replace this with yours throughout in the doc)

IP-to-If-index.10.$$$.$$$.$$$ = 2

Suggestion: You can do this step by sniffing the modem i.e. "192.168.100.1" when modem boots up. I never tried this method. Try your luck.

3) Download Image file from ISP`s TFTP server.

For doing this got to your command prompt and use below commands with out quotes and bracket.

"C:\tftp -i GET "

Okay now you got Image file from your ISP`s TFTP server.

4). Decrypt the Image file which you downloaded from ISP`s TFTP server

For all you can use the DOCsis tool
Code::
docsis
to decode

5). Modify the Image file

Change your computer's TCP configuration same as ISP`s TFTP server (i.e. IP address same as ISP`s TFTP server)

Go to my network place and right click ->properties

Select your LAN Card right click ->property->Internet Protocol (TCP-IP) double click on it and change it to as following values

Configure your TPC's TCP settings as below

IP: 194.*.*.90 (replace with the ISP's TFTP server)

Netmask: 255.255.255.0

Gateway: 192.168.100.1 (replace with your cable modem's IP address)

Note: Gateway should be 192.168.100.1 then only your modem can communicate with computer.

6). Encrypt the modified Image file (Save it using Docsis)

7). Host TFTP server in your computer

Download TFTP Server software and host TFTP server in your computer

You can download TFTP server from: Code:
Code::
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6KG6XIOO

8). Put Image file in the base directory of your TFTP

Start TFTPD32 server. Go to Settings and set the Security to None. Increase the timeout to 20secs and the Max Retransmit to 6. Choose to translate UNIX filenames. Make sure it's base directory point to where the isrr.bin is (i.e. the image file which you modified). If you need to replicate a directory pathname along with the image file, then make a directory from root that corresponds to the image file pathname.

Restart your modem, and AS SOON as the SEND light goes solid, you should see a receive on your TFTP server i.e. your PC

9). [Restart] your [modem]

10). Changer your PC's IP back as given by ISP

11). OOPS Done. Start surfing with your new speed

Create a Custom Boot Logo for Windows Vista

If you are a desktop customization kinda guy, one of the first things you'll want to figure out is how to create a customized boot logo. There's a little utility that you can use to create the boot logo formats.
First you'll need to download the

Vista Boot Logo Generator 1.1
utility, which we'll use to create the correct logo image type. Once it's installed, you need to make sure that you run the application as administrator:

Choose two versions of the image, one needs to be 800×600 at 24 bit color, and the other 1024×768 at the same color depth. Both files must be in Bitmap(BMP) format. Save the file somewhere like your desktop, because we can't yet copy directly to the correct directory, until we take ownership of the file.

To take ownership of the file, you'll have to open an administrator command prompt. (type cmd into the start menu search box, and hit Ctrl+Shift+Enter), and then run this command:
takeown /f C:\Windows\System32\en-US\winload.exe.mui
Now run this command, substituting username for your username:
cacls C:\Windows\System32\en-US\winload.exe.mui /G username:F
Now copy the file that you created into the C:\windows\system32\en-US\ directory. Make sure you choose the overwrite option.
Now you'll need to use the msconfig utility. Just type msconfig into the start menu search box, and then click the Boot tab:

Click the image to open in full size.

Check the "No GUI boot" option, and we're all ready to reboot and test it out. Sweet!

Hacking Windows XP!

In case of a User's Password loss.

* Boot the PC in Safe Mode by pressing the F8 key when starting your computer.

* Select the Safe Mode option. You can now Login as an Administrator and XP won't prompt for the Password.

* Try rebooting the PC in DOS.

* Now, Access to C:\Windows\system32\config\SAM.

* Rename SAM as SAM.mj.

* Now XP won't ask for Password next time you Login.

* Now, again go to Start menu --> Run.

* Type there cmd prompt.

* Type net user

*. It will list all the users.

* Again type net user "administrator" or the name of the administrator "name" *.

* It will ask for the Password. Type the Password and there you are done.

* Hold the Ctrl+Alt key and press Del twice. This will bring up the normal login and you can log on as Administrator. To unhide the Administrator account so it does show up.

* Again go to Start --> Run --> regedit.

* Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> SOFTWARE --> Microsoft --> Windows NT --> CurrentVersion --> Winlogon --> SpecialAccounts --> UserList.
* Unhide the Administrator key by giving it a value of 1.

A Small guide to hacking Hotmail

I_1_I - Brute force hacking
a. Use telnet to connect to port 110 (Hotmail´s pop-server)
b. Type USER and then the victim´s username
c. Type PASS and then the guess a password
d. Repeat that until U have found the correct password.
!. This is called brute force hacking and requires patience.
It´s better than trying to guess the victims password on
hotmail homepage only because it´s faster.
____
I_2_I - The Best way
a. Get the username of the victim (It usually stands in the adress-field
)
b. Then type " www.hotmail.com/cgi-bin/start/victimsusername "
c. U´re in!
!. This hack only work if U are on the same network or computer as the
victim and if he don´t log out.
____
I_3_I - The old way
a. Go to http://www.hotmail/proxy.html
b. Now type the victims username. (press login)
c. Look at the source code.
d. On the fifth row U should find "action=someadress"
e. Copy that adress and paste it into the adress-field
f. You are in...
!. As you can see it´s a long procedure and the victim have
plenty of time to log out.
____
I_4_I - Another...
a. Go to hotmail´s homepage
b. Copy the source code.
c. Make a new html file with the same code but change method=post to
method=enter
d. "view" the page
e. Change the adress to www.hotmail.com/ (don´t press enter!)
f. Make the victim type in his username and password
g. Look in the adress-field. There you´ll see ...&password:something...
!. This is the way I use, because it lets you know the password.
(If he exits the browser U can see the password in the History folder!)

READ!
Hotmail´s sysops have changed the "system" so that the victim may log
out even
if U are inside his/her account. So don´t waste U´r time!

---

So you want to get some hotmail passwords?
This is pretty easy to do once you have got the hang of it.
If you are a beginner, I wouldn't make this your first attempt at
hacking. When you need to do is use a port surfer and surf over to
port 80. While there, you have to try and mail the user that you
want the password from. It is best to mail them using the words
"We" and "Here at Hotmail..." Most suckers fall for this and end
up giving out their password. There is another way to also, you can
get an anon mailer, and forge the addres as staff@hotmail.com. But
you have to change the reply address to go to a different addres
like user@host.com. The person that you are trying to get the pass
from MUST respond to that letter for the mail to be forwarded to you.
Have text like "Please reply to this letter with the subject "PASSWORD"
and underneith please include your user name and password.
If you have trouble Loging in withing the next few days, this is
only because we are updating our mail servers but no need to worry,
your mail will still be there. Even though the server may be down
for an hour. From the staff at Hotmail, Thank You."

Convert FAT to NTFS file system Easily:-

To convert a FAT partition to NTFS, perform the following steps.
Click Start>>click Programs>> and then click Command Prompt.
In Windows XP, click Start>> click Run>> type cmd or Command and then click OK.
At the command prompt,
type CONVERT [driveletter]: /FS:NTFS.
Convert.exe will attempt to convert the partition to NTFS.

NOTE: Although the chance of corruption or data loss during the conversion from FAT to NTFS is minimal, it is best to perform a full backup of the data on the drive that it is to be converted prior to executing the convert command. It is also recommended to verify the integrity of the backup before proceeding, as well as to run RDISK and update the emergency repair disk (ERD).

Blu-ray-The Next-Generation Optical Disk

Blu-ray
Blu-ray, also known as Blu-ray Disc (BD), is the name of a next-generation optical disc format jointly developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), a group of the world's leading consumer electronics, personal computer and media manufacturers (including Apple, Dell, Hitachi, HP, JVC, LG, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, TDK and Thomson). The format was developed to enable recording, rewriting and playback of high-definition video (HD), as well as storing large amounts of data. The format offers more than five times the storage capacity of traditional DVDs and can hold up to 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc. This extra capacity combined with the use of advanced video and audio codec will offer consumers an unprecedented HD experience. While current optical disc technologies such as DVD, DVD±R, DVD±RW, and DVD-RAM rely on a red laser to read and write data, the new format uses a blue-violet laser instead, hence the name Blu-ray. Despite the different type of lasers used, Blu-ray products can easily be made backwards compatible with CDs and DVDs through the use of a BD/DVD/CD compatible optical pickup unit. The benefit of using a blue-violet laser (405nm) is that it has a shorter wavelength than a red laser (650nm), which makes it possible to focus the laser spot with even greater precision. This allows data to be packed more tightly and stored in less space, so it's possible to fit more data on the disc even though it's the same size as a CD/DVD. This together with the change of numerical aperture to 0.85 is what enables Blu-ray Discs to hold 25GB/50GB.Blu-ray is currently supported by more than 180 of the world's leading consumer electronics, personal computer, recording media, video game and music companies. The format also has broad support from the major movie studios as a successor to today's DVD format. In fact, seven of the eight major movie studios (Disney, Fox, Warner, Paramount, Sony, Lionsgate and MGM) have released movies in the Blu-ray format and five of them (Disney, Fox, Sony, Lionsgate and MGM) are releasing their movies exclusively in the Blu-ray format. Many studios have also announced that they will begin releasing new feature films on Blu-ray Disc day-and-date with DVD, as well as a continuous slate of catalog titles every month. The name Blu-ray Disc is derived from the blue-violet laser used to read and write this type of disc. Because of its shorter wavelength (405 nm), substantially more data can be stored on a Blu-ray Disc than on the DVD format, which uses a red (650 nm) laser. A single layer Blu-ray Disc can store 25 gigabytes (GB), over five times the size of a single layer DVD at 4.7 GB. A dual layer Blu-ray Disc can store 50 GB, almost 6 times the size of a dual layer DVD at 8.5 GB.Blu-ray Disc is similar to PDD, another optical disc format developed by Sony (which has been available since 2004) but offering higher data transfer speeds. PDD was not intended for home video use and was aimed at business data archiving and backup.

Hide Your Partitions ( C , D , E , F) for any 5 th and 6 th also

This trick is for all those guys whose wants to tons of data into their disks,We want to store some personal files or data which we don't to show anyone or access it This trick is for all those guys!!
Click start button>run type gpedit.msc, now move to user configuration >administrative templates > windows components > windows explorer, press
double click on "Hide these specified drives in My Computer" after following This steps properly You'll find another option "Prevent access to drives from My Computer" double click on dis option & change it accordingly.

To make it normal again click on "disable" by double clicking on "Hide

Rename a Series of Files

When you download photos from your digital camera, they often have unrecognizable names. You can rename several similar files at once with the following procedure. This also works for renaming other types of files.

1.Open the My Pictures folder. (Click Start, and then click My Pictures.) Or open another folder containing files that you want to rename.
2.Select the files you want to rename. If the files you want are not adjacent in the file list, press and hold CTRL, and then click each item to select it.
3.On the File menu, click Rename.
4.Type the new name, and then press ENTER.

All of the files in the series will be named in sequence using the new name you type. For example, if you type Birthday, the first will be named Birthday and subsequent files in the series will be named Birthday (1), Birthday (2), and so on. To specify the starting number for the series, type the starting number in parentheses after the new file name. The files in the series will be numbered in sequence starting with the number you type. For example, if you type Birthday (10), the other files will be named Birthday (11), Birthday (12), and so on.

http://v2tricks.blogspot.com/2008/11/internet-broadband-speed-up.html

this ones simple:
this is for broad band connections. I didn’t try it on dial up but might work for dial up.
1.make sure your logged on as actually "Administrator". do not log on with any account that just has administrator privileges.
2. start - run - type gpedit.msc
3. expand the "local computer policy" branch
4. expand the "administrative templates" branch
5. expand the "network branch"
6. Highlight the "QoS Packet Scheduler" in left window
7. in right window double click the "limit reservable bandwidth" setting
8. on setting tab check the "enabled" item
9. where it says "Bandwidth limit %" change it to read 0
reboot if you want to but not necessary on some systems your all done. Effect is immediate on some systems. some need re-boot. I have one machine that needs to reboot first, the others didn't. Don't know why this is.

This is more of a "counter what XP does" thing. In other words, XP seems to want to reserve 20% of the bandwidth for its self. Even with QoS disabled, even when this item is disabled. So why not use it to your advantage. To demonstrate the problem with this on stand alone machines start up a big download from a server with an FTP client. Try to find a server that doesn't max out your bandwidth. In this case you want a slow to medium speed server to demonstrate this. Let it run for a couple of minutes to get stable. The start up another download from the same server with another instance of your FTP client. You will notice that the available bandwidth is now being fought over and one of the clients download will be very slow or both will slow down when they should both be using the available bandwidth. Using this "tweak" both clients will have a fair share of the bandwidth and will not fight over the bandwidth.
